Set in the future, the world is increasingly reliant on digital devices and one company, Arknight Industries holds the key to its access as they possess the only unhackable code.

A group of motocross riders known as the Moto Nostra and led by their spiritual leader A-Hole X, see the truth for what digital is: An invisible form of control.

So the Moto Nostra chose to live analog, TO LIVE FREE from digital influence, so they can attempt their crazy stunts and tricks, to challenge gravity and express their passion.

They start to organize secret underground events and perform death defying feats of courage that inspire the crowds to disconnect from digital.

Word spreads and a movement starts to gain momentum, and now some within Arknight see them as a potential threat.

GR224 was created as a 5 episode side story and proof of concept. The premise: A-Hole X scattered ancient digital devices, pre Y2K, in areas where digital devices are rendered useless because of unexplainable forces.

Before he mysteriously disappeared, he challenged his followers to find them all, seeding a rumor they hold the key to reset humanity.

Bearclaw, a rider way past his prime, finds a new purpose to be the one to retrieve all the artifacts, while Arknight Industries is afraid if these devices end up in the wrong hands they lose their digital dominance over the entire industry.

They have a special division led by the emotionally cold Agent Packard, who has his own hidden agenda to learn the secrets of these areas.

Moto Nostra is part of a larger content universe around Actions Sports, known as Flirting with Gravity. Modeled after the Star Wars universe, FWG told different types of stories, executed in genres of all types: Anime, horror, scripted, reality, etc. We want to make an open world to capture the action sports lifestyle.

Moto Nostra was the sci-fi/CGI format of this world. It took years to finally complete all the episodes yet the themes of how technology is ruling our lives is so timely and relevant now.

It might have been easier to make a CGI or graphic novel as our proof of concept. But the limitations of production provide a chance to be more creative. I love how each episode uses a different narrative technique. Moto Nostra is its own thing and we had a chance to tell engaging emotional stories and apply a wider range of storytelling techniques through use of music, sound design, visual graphics and a big bag of tricks to make this immersive world come to life.

Is it possible that athletes can inspire and change the world? In 2020, when Kobe Bryant passed away. Los Angeles citizens paid tribute and expressed they too approached life with a “Mamba Mentality” So yeah, watching a man fly on a bike through the air, doing crazy tricks for the sake of doing definitely can be an inspiration. It inspired me to make this series.
